As we round out the year and reflect on 2018, we would like to say thank you to those that have made our year a great one. It has been a busy one for us at Urban and bitter sweet as we farewell our veteran team member Rod, who has been with us for 20 years. He will be greatly missed!
We are looking forward to a well deserved Christmas break with our families and time to recharge our batteries for the new year. Urban Lighting will be closing at 4pm on Saturday the 22nd of December and reopening on Wednesday the 2nd of January, business as usual.
From all of us at Urban we wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. See you all in 2019!!
Have you taken a trip to the country lately? I'm one of those lucky devils that grew up in a small town and the one thing I miss most is the incredible starry nights. Thousands upon thousands of stars, big bold moons and shooting stars. The reason we don't get this spectacular show in metro areas is due to light pollution.
Lighting can be magical, yep magical. Uplighters on architectural details, pinspot down lights above paintings, led strip on staircases, lamps or pendants to highlight a statement piece of furniture can create a whimsical illusion with just a flush of light.
Artworks are among the few purchases in ours homes that grow with us and stand the test of time. Homeware styles come and go but a well-chosen painting or sculpture is often something that will never be replaced and will evolve with your homes style.
